I’m very interested! I’m from Spain. I would like to know how much will it cost to send it here. If the board and mailing is less than 70-80 euros I am interested if it is more I will wait.
Sorry for the late reply! Postage to Spain is likely to cost around the region of €4.09. The board should reach you within 3-5 working days! Total cost: €53.71 Board + Shipping
Can It run Ubuntu TV?
Also, can you connect a HD Freeview tuner? (Making it a TV? )
Really, this looks good, it might just be the perfect thing for me to have a ARM low-power computer always-on at home. Also I’m looking forward to the cheap shipping to France. As a student, who cannot pay >150€ for a Pandaboard, this will do just fine. Also I think this can help build a community around Allwinner chips which are widely available in China, so wo knows maybe we can share things with chinese hackers. I would be quite interested in doing that since I’m learning Chinese.
Do you guys have a IRC channel ?
You said that this machine is 3x faster than RPi but i disagree. This machine really reminds me Rpi indeed in matter of performance
You need to remember that Ubuntu is a much more processor hungry operating system compared to the small operating systems supported by the Raspberry Pi. The LXDE OS is a very compact OS designed for efficiency, and I personally feel it is still quite slow. I doubt the Pi would be able to run ubuntu any faster than a snails pace, I however could be wrong
That’s because it’s running Ubuntu, a much more processor and memory
hungry OS than the Debian and Fedora flavour’s the RPi runs. Its like comparing an old machine running windows XP to a newer machine running windows Vista! If you were to run the same software like for like, the Gooseberry Board would be much faster. The RPi simply could not run either Android or Ubuntu. These Os’s have only been demoed to show what the board is capable of running. For speed, you can run a much lighter OS!
Open source GPU drivers? Sold! Goodbye Raspberry Pi…
I’ve registered my interest; when can I have one shipped to the USA?
I have to say I am impressed with this project. I have a number of boards like this at home that I play with including the panda, beagle and Pi (I am one of the lucky ones who has already received theirs).
The thing that kills my enjoyment of these other products is the lack of drivers for GPU for both OpenGL ES2.0 and OpenMAX (ie video decode) capability.
What is the situation going to be with the Goosberry WRT hw accelerated drivers? I assume they will come as binary blobs which is not really a problem for me, but the question is who will be supplying these for both Android and Linux?
Also, any ideas on lead time – I have registered my interest already!
One last question – Any ideas what the power consumption is like?
Keep up the good work tho!
I WHANT ONE WHEN WE WILL GET ,.SHIP TO BRAZIL.TKS
Could this board handle a BLUETOOTH?
I’m thinking of using it as an device for playing PS3 with mouse and keyboard.
Seems unneccesary to use a bulky expensive laptop to do that.
Emulator is found here: http://blog.gimx.fr/
Anyone tried to to run Debian run on it? If so, does it run with distro kernel or own kernel is required to run it?
I am also interested in getting my hands on this thing. I’m from the Philippines.
I am Interested in one.
What will a unit shipped to South Africa cost ?
Do you have units in stock
The board is avaliable? Because Raspberry Pi it´s a joke, I can´t buy because itsn´t avaliable and I had to wait for 140 days to get the board. I´m from Brazil.
The board is avalible? Is it possible to send to the Czech Republic in Prague. Can I pay via paypal.com?
